A vast, historically-faithful biopic of one of the most controversial figures in history: William I, the illegitimate boy who was made Duke of Normandy at just 8 years old. A tale told across thirty years, multiple civil wars, the earliest days of Medieval Europe and the foundations of Chivalry, taking William from Bastard, to Duke, to Knight and finally to conqueror of the Kingdom of England.
